Six by Lissa Jay (Arc Review)

This arc was kindly provided through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis:

FOR READERS AGED 18+ ONLY

A chance encounter with Chloe, aka 'Nina', an erotic dancer at The Fox Hub, leaves Six, VP of Company of Sinners MC, wanting more. The passion that sparks between them is electrifying but their relationship, while hot and insatiable is also dangerous.

If Six lets Chloe into his heart it could cost her life. If he doesn't it could send her into the arms of another man.

Review:

I try to find something positive in every book I review, mainly because I will never be the type of person to just bash someone's work. Something that they have poured all their time into, their hopes and their dreams. It is just not the thing to do. I am the type that wants to build up a writer, even if I hate their book, so that they can be better.

With that being said, I really didn't like this book. It felt like a knock off of the T.V. Show Sons of Anarchy.

The writer did an excellent job at writing erotica however. They were not kidding when the book said 18+ It was surely a book that will cause your face to flush and steam to rush from your ears, if you are looking for nothing but steam this is a book for you. If you are not looking for a storyline, this is the book for you.

What I did like about the book however was the description of the leading guy. He was not some sex god who turned everyone's eye. No Six, was a big hairy biker that most people curled their lip at. His description was one I could see in an every day setting.

The female lead however? That is another matter entirely. She was just so...stupid and helpless. Something I find hard to tolerate in women roles, she landed herself in one scenario after the next. She was always being kidnapped or sexually assaulted, it just felt over done and whiney. I was actually rooting for someone to kill her off so I would not have to deal with her.

I think the writer shows promise, I mean the idea was interesting enough it just felt poorly executed.
